On 9th and 10th October, Mount Carmel Year 7 pupils took part in an inspirational and valuable retreat for young people.

The team from NET Ministries Scotland and North America pitched the retreats perfectly and the pupils gained so much from it. The team was enthusiastic and compassionate and the pupils loved their zesty energy.

The theme of the retreat was "Free Indeed" and pupils had opportunities to think about their identity as a child of God, who is known, loved and chosen by Christ. The pupils also considered their faith, their relationship with God and their hopes for the next few years at Mount Carmel. It was a really valuable experience for them.

Following the retreats, we were delighted to welcome Fr. Francis Wadsworth for a celebration of Holy Mass. Pupils led the readings and prayers of intercession and we were honoured to be joined by parents, governors, partner primary school representatives and our own Senior Leadership Team.

A perfect and fitting way to celebrate the first half term of this fantastic year group.

NET Ministries commented:

"Thank you so much for the warm welcome to your school. Mount Carmel is a welcoming and inclusive school. These pupils are one of the best groups we've ever worked with."
