Author and Poet Nathan Parker visited Mount Carmel and spent time in the school library with Year 7 and 8 pupils. He explained how to improve narrative writing and what it takes to be a poet.

He inspired our pupils with his spoken word poetry and encouraged them not to let self-doubt limit their creativity.

Nathan stayed after school to speak to our book club about his novels and recite our favourite poem 'Titanic'. The students engaged wonderfully and gained a lot from the experience.

Thank you to Mount Carmel librarians Miss Fevre and Miss Fielding for organising this visit.
