On Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th September, Mount Carmel RC High School had an Ofsted Inspection. We are delighted to have been judged to be ‘Good’ in all areas and ‘Good’ overall as a school and in some areas, we were very close to being judged outstanding.

Headteacher Mr Xavier Bowers said “We are delighted with the overall judgements and inspection report. This report recognises all the hard work that has gone on across school in the last 6 years and confirms that Mount Carmel is officially a good school in all areas.”

The chair of Governors Andrew Dabrowski said “We would like to congratulate Mr Bowers, his dedicated and hardworking staff, pupils, parents, PTFA, governors and school advisors from the LA and Diocese of Salford for their continued support. We look forward to sustaining and securing all aspects of these ‘Good’ judgements but continue to be highly ambitious for the school in the future and will start putting plans in place so we can look to move forward on securing an outstanding judgement in the future.”

Mr Dabrowski also said “In March 2020 the school was also judged to be ‘Good’ in all categories and ‘Good’ overall by the Diocese of Salford Section 48 Inspection. This latest Ofsted inspection report just shows how much the school has improved on both inspection frameworks. However, we know we cannot be complacent and have complete confidence in Mr Bowers and his team of talented, hardworking and committed staff to ensure the school continues to go from strength to strength in the future. Accrington and Oswaldtwistle has a Catholic Secondary School they can be very proud of indeed.”
