Mount Carmel held a Mock Election for pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 on Thursday 4th July the same day as the General Election.
Pupils watched campaign videos from each of the five candidates prior to putting a cross against the name of their chosen candidate from the school council on a ballot paper.
We congratulate all of the candidates who put themselves forward and shown a lot of courage to be recorded for the video which was viewed by all pupils in school.
Pupils were voting to select their representative on the school council with the winner having a big say in how the rewards systems work next year.
The candidates were Sophia B., Oivia G., Mahdiya N., Grace N. and Jensen W. were invited to hear the results of the election on Friday 5th July.
The result was a victory for Sophia B. and the Freedom Party with a 97 vote majority over the second placed candidate.
Congratulations to Sophia and we wish her the best of luck as the new School Council Secretary of Rewards and KS3 Vice-Chair.
