This week, Mount Carmel had the great privilege of receiving the Jubilee Anchor from St Mary’s, Oswaldtwistle. It was a truly special occasion as we gathered to mark this moment in our chapel.

We were fascinated to see all the lanyards and prayer cards from schools across the Diocese of Salford, each one a sign of the faith, hope, and unity being shared throughout our diocesan family during this Jubilee journey.

Our time together began with a Celebration of the Word in the chapel, reflecting on the meaning of the Jubilee and the message of hope that the anchor represents. Afterwards, we enjoyed a celebratory breakfast, sharing friendship and conversation in a spirit of joy and gratitude.

We will be the proud keepers of the Jubilee Anchor until Friday, when we will pass it on to our friends at St Oswald’s to continue its journey around the diocese.
