Mount Carmel staff and pupils said an emotional farewell to Mrs Christine Ashworth who retired after working in the school library for 24 years!
Her colleagues in the English department outlined her work and family history and wrote a poem in her honour. Headteacher Mr Bowers thanked her for her hard work developing the library and reading initiatives over the years.
Christine then thanked everyone for their kindness and admitted that although she remembers the days in the library before the internet and Google she couldn't quite believe it had come to the time for her to retire.
We wish Christine lots of happiness during her retirement.
